Buzz Aldrin on the Moon – a defining photograph of the Apollo 11 mission. Own a museum-quality print from the first mission to land men on the moon.

Details:

The primary objective of Apollo 11 was to complete a national goal set by President John F. Kennedy on May 25, 1961 to perform a crewed lunar landing and return to Earth. Apollo 11 launched July 16, 1969 and landed back on Earth on July 24, 1969.

The photograph shows astronaut Buzz Aldrin standing on the lunar surface in his full spacesuit, photographed by Neil Armstrong during the Apollo 11 extravehicular activity (EVA) in the Sea of Tranquility.

While astronauts Neil A. Armstrong, Commander, and Edwin E. “Buzz” Aldrin Jr., Lunar Module Pilot, descended in the Lunar Module (LM) “Eagle” to explore the Sea of Tranquility region of the moon, astronaut Michael Collins, Command Module Pilot, remained with the Command and Service Modules (CSM) “Columbia” in lunar orbit.
