Description

Buzz Aldrin Visor Reflection – one of the most iconic photographs in history. Own a museum-quality print from the Apollo 11 mission – the first mission to land men on the moon.

Details:

The primary objective of Apollo 11 was to complete a national goal set by President John F. Kennedy on May 25, 1961 to perform a crewed lunar landing and return to Earth. Apollo 11 launched July 16, 1969 and landed back on Earth on July 24, 1969.

The photograph, taken by Neil Armstrong, shows fellow astronaut Buzz Aldrin on the lunar surface with the gold visor of his helmet reflecting the Lunar Module “Eagle”, the barren landscape of the Sea of Tranquility, and the photographer himself – making it one of the most reproduced images from the entire Apollo program.

While astronauts Neil A. Armstrong, Commander, and Edwin E. “Buzz” Aldrin Jr., Lunar Module Pilot, descended in the Lunar Module (LM) “Eagle” to explore the Sea of Tranquility region of the moon, astronaut Michael Collins, Command Module Pilot, remained with the Command and Service Modules (CSM) “Columbia” in lunar orbit.

Crew: NASA astronauts Neil A. Armstrong, Michael Collins, Edwin E. “Buzz” Aldrin Jr.
